Rob joined Total Metrics in 1996 and brought with him 11 years’ previous experience in the Information Technology industry, 5 of which were spent specializing in the implementation of software measurement practices within a number of State Government agencies.

While working for Total Metrics, Rob has specialized in performing functional size measurement of all types of software applications and the development of the processes and procedures required to implement a functional size measurement program within an organization. Rob has widespread experience in the measurement requirements of financial, judiciary, legal and telecommunications industries and has worked extensively within this application area both in Australia and New Zealand.

He specializes in performing functional size measurement and the development of the processes and procedures required to implement a functional size measurement program within an organization. Rob has worked extensively in the implementation of metrics to support performance monitoring of outsourcing contracts, both for clients and suppliers and as an independent scope manager.

Rob has served as the Australian Software Metrics Association (Victorian Chapter) Counting Practices Committee coordinator. A founding member of the Function Point Special Interest Group, Rob has co-authored and/or edited many of the publications and presentations of the group. He was first certified to IFPUG CFPS in 1996 and is currently certified to IFPUG 4.2.
